Our Parish Primary Schools
The Parish is richly blessed in having three Parish Primary Schools which are an integral part of the Catholic Community and mission – St. Margaret Mary’s School, St. Patrick’s School and Whitefriars School. All three schools were originally staffed by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
These sisters brought to the school communities the understanding of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop; that every child is important to God, and that education should help form the whole child—spiritually, intellectually, culturally and physically.
Each school offers a full primary curriculum (Reception—Year 6) including a Catholic Religious Education Program and participation in the Eucharist and other liturgies. St. Margaret Mary’s School also offers a preschool program for four year old children. St. Patrick’s School has a Special Learning Unit for children with learning disabilities.
All three schools offer Out of School Hours Care. St. Margaret Mary’s School and Whitefriars also offer a Vacation Care program which operate during the school holidays.
For children who are not of school age, a playgroup is offered by the 3 schools for children from birth to 5 years old.
Each school has a respective school board, consisting of parents and staff, who work closely together to oversee the development of policies, pastoral care and financial management.
While priority is given to Catholic children from the parish, early enrolments are essential.
